- • Why don’t the rear speakers work after adding the RNGR-REAR kit?
A loose connection or improperly seated rear-speaker harness can prevent audio from reaching the new speakers. The kit uses the RFRNGR-RSW16 add-on harness, so checking each connector is a good first troubleshooting step.
- • Will RNGR-REAR fit my Polaris Ranger?
Fitment is model- and year-specific. The kit is intended for select Gen-1 Ranger models and is not compatible with every Ranger, including some 570 configurations. Always verify the exact vehicle in the compatibility chart before installation.
- • Can I install RNGR-REAR without replacing my existing Stage system?

- • Are the rear speaker enclosures strong enough for trail riding?
The RM1652W-MB rear speakers use marine-grade construction, and the RNGR-REAR system is designed for harsh outdoor conditions. The speakers are also listed as IPX6 water-intrusion rated, making them better suited to dust and wet riding than conventional car speakers.
- • Why are the rear speakers difficult to position exactly where I want them?
The included PM-CL3B clamps are designed for the Ranger Lock & Ride roll cage, while the speaker enclosure provides near-360-degree rotational mounting. Proper clamp positioning can therefore make a noticeable difference in speaker direction and clearance.
- • Does RNGR-REAR include everything needed for the rear speaker connection?
The kit includes the pair of RM1652W-MB rear speakers, PM-CL3B clamps, and the RFRNGR-RSW16 rear speaker harness. An antenna is specifically listed as not included, so it should not be expected in the package.
- • Why is the rear-speaker installation taking longer than expected?
Rockford Fosgate estimates about one hour for installation, but routing the harness, accessing mounting points, and securing the speakers can take longer depending on the Ranger configuration and installer experience.
- • Why did my audio system stop working after adding the rear speakers?
An incorrect connection during installation can affect the overall audio system. Rockford Fosgate notes that incorrect installation can result in products being returned with no actual hardware fault, so checking the wiring and connections before replacing components is recommended.
- • Why do the rear speakers have plenty of volume but still sound poorly positioned?
Rear speaker direction matters on an open UTV because there is little cabin enclosure to contain the sound. Adjusting the RM1652W-MB enclosures on their rotational mounts can help aim the speakers toward the occupants instead of directly away from the seating area.
